Seven Fields Estate Sale: Unique Finds & Halloween Fun

Written by admin

Seven Fields estate sale

Our recent Seven Fields estate sale on Aspen Lane had a little bit of everything, including something we don’t come across very often: a fully functional Diamant D525 cast iron grain mill.

And since the sale happened on Halloween, we decided to have a little extra fun with it.

Along with the furniture, antiques, kitchenware, and household finds, we added a Halloween costume contest with a $100 gift card prize. It was a fun change from our usual Saturday sales and gave shoppers another reason to get into the Halloween spirit.

Between the unusual grain mill, beautiful furniture, vintage cookware, and Halloween festivities, this was definitely a sale with its own personality.

The Star of Our Seven Fields Estate Sale: A Diamant D525 Grain Mill

If there was one item that deserved its own spotlight, it was the Diamant D525 cast iron manual grain mill.

This wasn’t just an old piece of equipment sitting around for decoration. The mill was fully functional, which made it even more interesting.

The Diamant D525 is a heavy-duty, hand-operated grain mill designed to grind grains into flour and meal. Its substantial cast iron construction gives it a distinctive industrial look, and it’s certainly not something you see in every kitchen.

For us, finding something like this is one of the most interesting parts of preparing an estate sale.

We come across all kinds of furniture, collectibles, and household items. But every now and then, there’s something that makes us stop and say, “Well, that’s pretty cool.”

This grain mill was one of those finds.

And while it might not be something everyone needs in their kitchen, it was definitely worth showing off.

Halloween at an Estate Sale? Why Not! 🎃

Since our sale fell on Saturday, October 31, we thought it would be fun to do something a little different.

So, we added a Halloween costume contest, with a $100 gift card up for grabs for the winner!

Estate sales already bring together all kinds of people, from collectors and resellers to neighbors who just enjoy looking around. Adding a costume contest gave the day a little extra Halloween spirit.

After all, who says you can’t shop for antiques and vintage finds while celebrating Halloween?

We enjoy finding ways to make our sales welcoming and fun, and this was a nice opportunity to try something different.

The merchandise may have brought everyone to Aspen Lane, but the Halloween contest gave the day an extra twist.

Restoration Hardware Furniture and Antique Finds

Beyond the grain mill and Halloween festivities, the home had plenty of furniture worth exploring.

One of the highlights was a selection of Restoration Hardware furniture, including dressers, end tables, a desk, and a sectional sofa.

There was also an antique oak display cabinet with apothecary-style drawers. Its many small drawers gave it a look that you don’t often find in modern furniture.

Another interesting piece was an antique three-door oak ice box.

Before modern refrigerators became common, families used ice boxes to keep food cold. Today, people appreciate these older pieces for their craftsmanship and character.

The home also featured a vintage Hollywood Regency-style dining table and swivel chair set, along with a leather sofa, Pottery Barn storage cabinet, Hekman end table, and Lane hallway table.

Meanwhile, shoppers could browse bedroom dressers, storage cabinets, shelving, and other useful furniture.

It was a good mix of statement pieces and everyday furnishings.

Vintage Cookware That Deserved a Closer Look

The kitchen collection was another memorable part of our Seven Fields estate sale.

Alongside the Diamant grain mill, we had a collection of Mid-Century Modern Descoware enameled cast iron cookware.

There were also Le Creuset cookware and pitchers, vintage Pyrex, ornate wooden bowls, and a Breville espresso machine.

For anyone who enjoys cooking, there was plenty to appreciate.

Some shoppers love finding older cookware because of its quality and design. Others simply want something practical that they can use at home.

And sometimes, a piece catches your attention because of its color or style.

In addition to the collectible cookware, the home had an Instant Pot, food scale, modern pots and pans, glassware, stemware, and other kitchen essentials.

Whether someone came looking for a particular brand or just wanted to browse, the kitchen offered plenty of options.

Home Décor With a Mix of Styles

One thing we noticed about this home was how different styles came together.

There were beautiful Oriental rugs, Restoration Hardware decorative pieces, industrial-style accents, and farmhouse décor throughout the rooms.

The lighting collection also reflected that variety, with farmhouse and industrial-style lamps.

Meanwhile, decorative crystals, large planters, wooden bowls, farmhouse signs, and greenery added even more character.

We always enjoy seeing how people decorate their homes because no two collections look exactly alike.

Some people prefer traditional pieces, while others lean toward modern or industrial styles.

This home had a little of everything, which made browsing the rooms especially interesting.

Electronics, Appliances and Everyday Finds

Of course, not everything at an estate sale has to be antique or collectible.

The Seven Fields home also had plenty of modern electronics and practical household items.

Among the featured pieces were Apple iMac computers, a LifeSpan Fitness treadmill, Bose SoundTouch radio, Brother MFC-L2820DW all-in-one printer, and Dyson vacuum cleaner.

There was also a vintage Crosley radio for anyone who appreciates older electronics.

In addition, the home offered quality bedding, comforters, quilts, decorative throws, sheets, and pillows.

These are the kinds of items that make estate sales useful for more than just collectors.

Sometimes you’re looking for a piece of furniture or a vintage collectible. Other times, you simply find something your home needs.

Sewing, Games and a Few Unexpected Finds

Another interesting item was a Pfaff 7570 sewing machine.

For shoppers who enjoy sewing or working on creative projects, it was another piece worth checking out.

The home also had a large collection of board games, children’s toys, women’s hats, and storage items.

Meanwhile, the outdoor and garage areas offered furniture, planters, tools, shelving, firewood, and general household supplies.

We always encourage shoppers to look through every part of a sale, including the garage.

You never know when something useful might be sitting on a shelf or tucked away in a corner.

And that’s part of what makes estate sale shopping fun.

What Made This Seven Fields Estate Sale Different

Looking back at our Seven Fields estate sale, two things stand out.

First, there was the Diamant D525 grain mill.

We see plenty of interesting household equipment, but a fully functional cast iron grain mill isn’t something we come across every week. It was a great example of how one unusual item can become a highlight of an entire sale.

Then there was the Halloween costume contest.

We spend a lot of time preparing homes, organizing merchandise, and getting everything ready for shoppers. So, when we have an opportunity to make the experience a little more fun, we enjoy taking it.

The $100 gift card contest brought something different to our Halloween sale, and we liked being able to mix a little holiday fun into our usual estate sale routine.

Of course, the rest of the home had plenty to offer, too. From Restoration Hardware furniture and antique oak pieces to vintage cookware, rugs, electronics, and household essentials, there was something for many different kinds of shoppers.

More Than Just Another Saturday Sale

Our Halloween Seven Fields estate sale was a good reminder that every sale has its own personality.

Sometimes the standout is a collection of antiques. Other times, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture or an unusual collectible.

And occasionally, it’s a fully functional cast iron grain mill that gets everyone talking.

Add a Halloween costume contest to the mix, and you’ve got a Saturday that feels a little different from the usual.

We enjoyed bringing this sale to Seven Fields and adding something fun for the occasion.

At Allay Estate Sales, we love sharing interesting finds with our shoppers, but we also enjoy the people and conversations that come with every sale.

After all, finding a great deal is always fun.

Finding one while celebrating Halloween? Even better. 🎃
